Left Lane Associates advises HTL Freight on the acquisition of TS3 Logistics, expanding into temperature-controlled freight and the Western U.S.
- Entry into the temperature-controlled (reefer) freight sector
- Strengthens HTL Freight’s presence on the U.S. West Coast
- Fifth targeted acquisition for HTL Freight in four years
Charlotte, NC – June 18, 2025 – HTL Freight, a fast-growing Third-Party Logistics (3PL) company known for its technology-driven, customer-centric service model, has acquired TS3 Logistics, a California-based freight brokerage with specialized expertise in fresh and frozen freight. This strategic transaction marks HTL’s entry into the temperature-controlled freight sector, strengthening its presence on the U.S. West Coast.
The acquisition of TS3 Logistics marks a significant milestone in HTL Freight’s continued expansion, representing a strategic move into high-value, time- and temperature-sensitive freight services. With TS3’s expertise in refrigerated truckload and LTL operations, HTL is now equipped to meet the growing demand for cold chain logistics, particularly in sectors like food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals.
The transaction strengthens HTL Freight’s position through specialized verticals (temperature-controlled freight) and geographic expansion (West Coast). With TS3 Logistics’ expertise in refrigerated truckload and LTL reefer transportation, HTL Freight is now better positioned to meet the growing demand in sectors such as food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals.
Left Lane Associates served as the exclusive M&A advisor to HTL Freight in this transaction.
“HTL did not have extensive experience in the refrigerated and temperature-controlled freight sector previously, and the acquisition of TS3 extends the company’s reach,” said Peter Stefanovich, President of Left Lane Associates.
“This acquisition reflects the deliberate, strategic approach we’ve taken to build the best-in-class freight brokerage we envisioned from the beginning,” said Onu Okebie, CEO of HTL Freight. “In just four years, we’ve executed five targeted acquisitions, each one adding strength in key service modalities, geographic presence, and operational depth. This move expands us into the critical temperature-controlled freight sector while establishing a stronghold on the West Coast to complement our reach across the Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, and Southwest.”
“Our team has built something special in the reefer space, and we see this as an opportunity to accelerate our growth,” added Tyler Sullivan, Founder and CEO of TS3 Logistics. “With HTL’s scale, high-performance culture, and operational expertise behind us, we’re excited about what’s next for our customers, carriers, and employees alike.”
As part of the transaction, TS3 Logistics will operate under the HTL Freight banner. Ten employees will join the HTL Freight team, bringing the total headcount to approximately 70. Members of TS3 Logistics’ leadership team will assume key positions/roles within HTL Freight to ensure continuity and support future growth.
